On the far side of the Looking Glass:
The Squid:
I had stopped, drawn to the lights
that danced across me
Admiring blue and white pulses
And there you were!
Edging cautiously toward me, and I beckoned
I imagined you thinking, in your squid thoughts,
"What manner of curious creature is this?"
I was mesmerised
By your beauty
Your hover fluttering along your body
The flashing colours of emotions
But then you were upon me, as close as you cared to be
Discovering all of my human deceptions and conceits
You became pale-then translucent
Drifting beyond my sight
In the realm of reflections.
